Membership

Since 1865, The Castle Club has been at the heart of Rochester’s social and professional life, providing a welcoming environment for gentlemen to enjoy friendship, discussion, dining, and shared interests.

Prospective members who are not personally known to an existing member may apply by writing to the Membership Secretary. Such correspondence should explain why the applicant wishes to join the Club, outline their background and interests, and provide details of membership of any other private members’ clubs or similar organisations.

The Club values individuals of good character who will enhance the atmosphere, traditions, and fellowship that have distinguished The Castle Club for more than a century and a half.

Applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee, and those considered suitable may be invited to attend the Club and meet members before any decision is reached.

Note for potential applicants.

The Castle Club carefully considers every application for membership. Admission to the Club is at the discretion of the Membership Committee and is governed by the Club’s Rules and Constitution.

Submission of an application does not guarantee election to membership. The Committee reserves the right to accept or decline any application and, as a private members’ club, is not obliged to provide reasons for its decision or to enter into correspondence regarding the outcome of an application.

The Club seeks to maintain the character, traditions and fellowship that have been its hallmark since 1865 and considers each application on its individual merits.
